The second wave of this pandemic has been a real attack on the mental health of the citizens of all age groups. The ferocious deaths, loss of oxygen and lack of medical infrastructure is making people beg for basic privileges including the safety of their loved ones
Some of us are privileged enough to do. We are self-quarantined, in different parts of the country. Some are with family while some are away from their family. All are using this time to be productive and bring out the best in them. We are turning into cooks, readers, singers dancers and what not trying to keep ourselves sane due to all of this sudden life change all over again after we barely stood ourselves up from the first disastrous wave.
Social media is a great platform to share all our new sides that we nurture in these days. But, it does not and should not force you into doing something you don't really want to, on your own. If you don't feel like being productive, artistic or dig reasons to be happy, don't. Especially under the influence of social media and your friends, don’t. We want to be what is being displayed, we want to be like them, get productive, enhance our skills some way or the other, still trying to keep up with hassle and bustle of life. Like, we can’t we enough of what we are! Why can’t we just appreciate this time and give ourselves a break from all this like we should because not everyone works the same way, not everyone flourishes the same way. Taking breaks does not make you a black sheep and it never will.
Unknowingly, the urge to be up-to-date with the others around us becomes self-torture and we don't even notice because we are so used to the ways to dealing with yourselves under all that pressure and panic. Don’t do anything if you don't want to.
Sit back, relax. Don't think why or for how many days. Don't question yourself for taking decisions that your body wants as it's a varied version of what people around you are doing. Relax in whatever way you want, be it watching movie, practicing yoga (or maybe not, who cares!), Use aroma therapy, practice skin care, and sleep extra hours. My point remaining, do whatever the hell you want under this blue sky. Your actions should heal you, use this time to heal and grow but on good terms with yourself, only.
